Jiffy X-Series Kills 100% of Dust Mites and 100% of Bed Bugs according a Texas A&M Study

Dust Mites

Texas A&M University conducted a study to test the efficacy of the Jiffy Steamer X-Series on dust mites on May 23, 2011. Dr. Roger E. Gold, Professor and Endowed Chair, Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University led the study. The results of the study concluded that the Jiffy Steamer X-Series proved effective in killing 100% of all dust mites using a 6-inch metal steam head attachment when it was placed directly onto the area where the dust mites lived.

Bed Bugs

Texas A&M University conducted a study to test the efficacy of the Jiffy Steamer X-Series on bed bugs on May 23, 2011. Dr. Roger E. Gold, Professor and Endowed Chair, Department of Entomologyat Texas A&M University led the study. The results of the study concluded that the Jiffy Steamer X-Series proved effective in killing 96% of all bed bugs using a 6-inch metal steam head attachment when the steam was applied at a rate of 30 seconds per foot.

The Texas A&M study tested the effectiveness of the Jiffy Steamer X-Series using a continuous application of steam, resulting in a 96% mortality rate because some bed bugs ran from the steam. However, the Jiffy Steamer X-Series is 100% effective in practical use, as a consumer could lift the steam head and reapply it over the bed bug to kill it.
